Cadeler A/S, a key supplier within the offshore wind industry, has signed a firm contract with Siemens Gamesa to provide the transportation and installation of a total of 60 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbines (WTGs) for the Moray West offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland. This will be the first time that these 14MW offshore wind turbines will be installed on a commercial scale.

The Jülich Research Centre in Germany is evaluating the construction and operation of a large test stand for drive trains of wind turbines with gearboxes. The Centre for Wind Power Drives (CWD) of the RWTH Aachen is participating in a corresponding feasibility study and is interested in using the test rig later. Read more

Three months after the inauguration of the prototype production facility in Sassnitz / Mukran on the German island of Rügen, Euros Entwicklungsgesellschaft für Windkraftanlagen mbH has delivered and shipped the first offshore rotor blade to their customer Mitsubishi.
The rotor blades of this type, which have a length of 81.6 m and a mass of 32.5 t, are intended for use on Mitsubishi's 7 MW turbine. It will be installed for the first time on the coast of Scotland near Glasgow as well as in Fukushima, Japan Read more

The agreement formalizes both groups’ decision to combine their expertise in the French government’s second call for offshore wind tenders. According to the involved companies, the first commercial offshore wind measurement campaign using floating Lidar in European waters has kicked off.
