New jack-up vessel concept for 10 to 12 MW turbines

SeaOwls and Ulstein launched a pioneering heavy lift jack-up vessel design, the SOUL, allowing transport and installation of the next generation wind turbines with a capacity of 10 to 12 MW.

Rendsburg Port on the German Kiel Canal has one of the highest capacities of any centre for heavy load logistics in northern Europe, making it an important location for the onshore and offshore wind industries.

The G9 Offshore Wind Health and Safety Association (G9), supported by the Energy Institute (EI), has published the 2015 health and safety (HSE) statistics for the offshore wind sector that provides incident data for UK offshore wind farm sites.

WIKING Helikopter Service orders two Airbus H145s for offshore operations

Airbus Helicopters and WIKING Helikopter Service GmbH signed a contract for two H145s in offshore configuration at the international aerospace exhibition ILA in Berlin. The delivery of the first H145 is scheduled for the end of the year.

Northern HeliCopter GmbH (NHC) is now in charge of transporting personnel for Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH to its wind farm in the German Bight.

Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam (DSAm), part of Damen Shiprepair & Conversion, is currently undertaking a major modification and maintenance project on the jack-up vessel Sea Installer that will bring the A2SEA-owned vessel into line with growing demands of the offshore wind industry.

Transformer platform for offshore wind farm Sandbank goes to sea

After approximately 16 months of construction work, the transformer substation for the offshore wind farm Sandbank is now on its way to the construction site 90 kilometres west of Sylt in the German North Sea.

First offshore wind service vessel from Ulstein Verft launched

The first service operation vessel (SOV) within the renewable energy segment, and also the first with the newly-developed X-STERN™ hull line design, has been launched from Ulstein Verft.

More wind turbines in the North and Baltic Seas were connected to the grid in 2015 than ever before. For this reason, it is becoming increasingly important to be able to detect malfunctions and plan maintenance work on offshore wind farms as early as possible.

Siemens begins charter of Wind Server

Siemens is beginning a three-year charter agreement for DBB Jack-up’s new jack-up vessel, Wind Server. The vessel will be part of the service concept for the rising number of large-scaled offshore wind power projects across Northern Europe.
