Lindø launches port extension

Lindø port of Odense has started a port extension for DKK358 million. Once the construction work is completed, Lindø port will dispose of an additional 500,000m2 of harbour area and new quays extending more than 1,000m.

The twin-engine multipurpose helicopter H145 has successfully proved its operational capabilities for challenging offshore missions. During a two-day flight trial the H145 was tested in all the relevant fields of offshore operations.

Sea Worker finally capsized

After grounding a few days before, installation vessel Sea Worker now capsized off the coast at Nymindegab south of Hvide Sande. According to ship owner A2Sea, no pollution has been detected from the vessel.

High Wind tested the Boom Lock system

Video - High Wind tested the Boom Lock system with a 6MW Senvion wind turbine blade, proving the ability to keep it completely still in wind conditions of 15m/s average wind speed and gusts up to 20m/s. The test also proved the benefit of the intelligent guidance system on heavy loads like nacelles and towers.

Vattenfall has dismantled Yttre Stengrund offshore wind farm off the coast of Sweden. It is the first ever decommissioning of an offshore wind farm.

Whilst being in transit to Esbjerg, the tow line between jack-up barge Sea Worker and the tug boat broke and the vessel drifted towards the coast. Shortly after evacuation, Sea Worker grounded off the coast at Nymindegab south of Hvide Sande.

East Anglian seabed scanning discovers German WW1 submarine

Whilst undertaking detailed seabed scanning for the development of windfarm projects in the East Anglia Zone windfarm developers ScottishPower Renewables and Vattenfall uncovered a wreck of a WW1 German submarine, missing in action since 1915.

The Danish Maritime Authority has had a report drawn up that maps the regulations and industry standards applicable to maritime operations in the offshore wind sector of Denmark, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands.

The first of two SOV hulls for Bernhard Schulte Offshore made its first voyage, from Crist yard in Gdynia, Poland, to Norway. In the early morning of January 3 it arrived at Ulstein Verft in Ulsteinvik where it will be outfitted during the next months.
