BZEE and OffTEC are joining forces

The OffTEC training and development cluster, which is based in Enge-Sande, and the Bildungszentrum für Erneuerbare Energien (BZEE) in Husum are teaming up to offer a jointly co-ordinated range of services. The two institutions signed a co-operation agreement in early January that covers the areas of training and consulting for wind energy. The agreement provides for the joint use of trainers, consultants as well as infrastructure.

In December 2014, German offshore wind turbines fed more than 1 GW power into the grid for the first time. This is the conclusion reached by the study "Status of Offshore Wind Energy Development in Germany" by Deutsche Windguard.

X-BOW cracks the 100 vessels mark

With the latest contract for two offshore wind service vessels for Bernhard Schulte/Windea Offshore, shipbuilder Ulstein has achieved 100 sales of the X-BOW hull line design. The milestone was achieved 10 years after the launch of the X-BOW design in 2005.

Iberdrola awards Areva € 620 million for Wikinger offshore park

Iberdrola and Areva signed their largest renewables contract so far with a volume of € 620 million for the supply of wind turbines to the 350 MW offshore wind park Wikinger. In cooperation with its joint venture partner Gamesa, Areva will deliver 70 wind turbines of the M5000-135 type and provide maintenance services.

EnBW sells shares of the offshore wind farm Baltic 2

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG has sold a 49.89% stake in the German offshore wind farm EnBW Baltic 2 to the Australian investment company Macquarie Capital for € 720 million.

MHI turbines for Burbo Bank Extension

Dong Energy has decided to construct the offshore wind farm Burbo Bank Extension located 8 km off the United Kingdom coast in Liverpool Bay. The 258 MW project is the first commercial order for 32 of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind’s V164-8.0 MW wind turbines.
