Offshore works at Aberdeen Wind Farm completed

Fugro has completed offshore works undertaken in preparation for full construction of the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre at Aberdeen Bay, Scotland. This new facility will provide a platform for the first run of production offshore wind turbines to demonstrate their potential.

Siemens commissions new offshore base port in Eemshaven

Siemens wants to build a new offshore service hub in the Dutch port of Eemshaven. The site will be used as a base port for the operation and maintenance services that Siemens will supply for the Dutch Gemini wind farm.

Marine and Helicopter Coordination Centre by Dong Energy

Dong Energy has commissioned a centralised hub for the support of their UK offshore wind farm construction. SeaPlanner will be system provider for this new Marine and Helicopter Coordination Centre (MHCC).

ABB is building the connection for the 1.2-GW wind farm Hornsea Project One

ABB has been commissioned by the Danish energy company Dong Energy to build a 220-kilovolt high-voltage cable system. The system will connect the offshore wind farm Hornsea Project One in the North Sea with the British east coast and supply approximately one million households with wind energy.

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind doubles its presence at Danish Port of Esbjerg

The offshore expert MHI Vestas Offshore Wind increases its lease at the Danish Port of Esbjerg from 54,200 to 138,000 m². The space will be used for pre-assembly and shipment of offshore wind turbine components.

Since the company first moved into the East Port, five projects have been executed from there. Since operations have grown, MHI Vestas decided to more than double its presence at the Port of Esbjerg.

UK’s strengthens project pipeline

The Crown Estate has announced agreements with offshore wind developers ScottishPower Renewables, Vattenfall and Dong Energy, which have reconfigured or identified new projects within their respective Round 3 offshore wind development zones.

ABB gets order for Kriegers Flak onshore converter

ABB has received an order worth around US$140 million from transmission system operators Energinet.dk in Denmark and 50Hertz Transmission in Germany to design, supply and install a HVDC onshore converter station in Bentwisch, Northern Germany.

Lindø port of Odense has started a port extension for DKK358 million. Once the construction work is completed, Lindø port will dispose of an additional 500,000m2 of harbour area and new quays extending more than 1,000m.

Boskalis strengthens position

Boskalis has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to acquire offshore activities from VolkerWessels. Under the intended transaction, Boskalis will acquire maritime and offshore wind energy related activities of VolkerWessels, being VBMS, Stemat and Volker Stevin International.
